micropreemie mommy
just a supermom juggling two former micropreemies with special healthcare needs (and both are now HOME!), work, love, home… and apparently a blog. feel free to roam about and hopefully learn about how to: be a mom, be an imperfect mom, be an imperfect mom in an imperfect situation… and be an imperfect mom in an imperfect situation and still have a sense of humor (and her sanity).-
who is amy lou

hi there,
thanks for visiting. as you can guess, my name is amy and i’m a busy gal. i’m currently juggling a very challenging full time job with being a full time mom. i have beautiful identical twin girls who were former micropreemies, born 3 1/2 months premature at 1 lb 13 oz and 1 lb 12 oz in january of 2009. our youngest (by a minute) daughter has been home with us since may and our oldest is *still* not home with us. she is at the only pulmonary rehab for pediatrics center in new england (which is quite surprising to us considering the amount of medical shhhtuff going on here in boston) at franciscans hospital for children.
our oldest daughter is currently on a ventilator with a trach. she is fed through gj-tube and through it all, is the most calm, happy little chubby wonder anyone could ever hope for.
our youngest is home and on oxygen 24 hours a day. she also has a g-tube, but is getting better at feeding orally and we hope to have the medical interventions waning on her end very soon!
life can throw some amazing things at you, which make you marvel at what you can actually handle. i am amazed each and every day at our continued adventure… i am also very tired.
sometimes i feel like this…
and i often wish i had more of this…

Hey girl… how are you doing? Any update on Miss Molly? And how’s Madeline doing since she pulled her trach out?
I’ve heard that saying too about God only giving people what they can handle…. I hope he is about done with the Farrell clan because you guys have had your fair share. You are such a strong and amazing woman… keep fighting for your girls! I hope they are both better soon and closer to being home where they belong.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Thanks for updating the blog when you have a million other things going on. Talk soon… Isobel -

Hey Farrell family! Keep up the good work! Keep loving each other and smiling a lot. You are strong and great people who have two small micarcles on your hands!
Love from Sanford in Qatar.
